Our Criteria and Eligibility
Kappa Gamma is dedicated to selecting men who embody the values and standards we uphold. The following criteria reflect the foundation of our brotherhood and serve as a guide in identifying potential new members who will strengthen and contribute to our enduring legacy.
Scholarship Fellowship Leadership Character
Scholarship
The candidate, should he be an undergraduate student, is to maintain a cumulative 2.3 grade point average. The undergraduate candidate must have earned at least 24 degree credits. If the candidate is a graduate student, he is to maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average. The graduate student candidate must have a minimum of nine credit hours earned. If the candidate is a transfer student, he must have earned at least 24 credits, and 12 of those 24 credits must be earned at Gallaudet University.
Fellowship
The candidate should be visible and be known among students, brothers, and the Gallaudet community by engaging in general campus activities.
Leadership
The candidate is to demonstrate excellence in leadership among the community activities in areas such as athletics, student organizations/clubs, on-campus employment, and various campus activities.
Character
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a worthwhile potential to meet/share common goals and interests which makes a good brother. An example of a person with character is a person who values integrity, kindness, respect, and honesty.
